About Us

Orion Dental Centre first opened its doors in January 2008.  Since then our practice has proudly looked after the dental needs of the Greater Springfield community and surrounds.  The practice has been a Finalist in the Quest Business Achiever Awards in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012, cementing its place as one of Greater Springfield's popular businesses.

Our Dentists

Dr Bryan Dubbeldam.   After graduating from the University of Queensland in 1993, Dr Dubbeldam joined the Royal Australian Air Force.  As a young dentist, this allowed him to develop a broad range of general dental skills.  During his Air Force career, Dr Dubbeldam feels he was fortunate to have had the opportunity to practice around Australia and being deployed to East Timor.  He left the permanent Force as Air Force's senior dentist and he remains a consultant in the Air Force Reserve.  Dr Dubbeldam is skilled in all facets of general dentistry, and particularly enjoys restorative dentistry.  Dr Dubbeldam is a member of the Vardiman Dental Study Club which meets regularly to discuss current developments within the profession.

When away from the practice, Dr Dubbeldam enjoys spending time with his wife and children, and is disappointed that Brisbane is too far from the snow for his favourite pastime, snow skiing.

Dr Steven Fiore.  Joining the practice in January 2010 was Dr Steven Fiore.  Before returning to the University of Queensland to study dentistry, Dr Fiore was a registered pharmacist for several years.  During his undergraduate training, Dr Fiore received academic prizes for paediatric dentistry and periodontics.  Dr Fiore has developed a relaxed manner, which is appreciated by his patients.  Dr Fiore is a member of the Australian Society of Endodontology.

Dr Christine Cordery.  We welcomed Dr Christine Cordery to our practice in July 2012.  A 1993 graduate of the University of Melbourne, Dr Cordery was awarded prizes for highest grade point average and prosthodontics.  She joined the Royal Australian Air Force upon graduation, having a distinguished military career, including overseas deployments culminating also as Air Force's senior dentist. Dr Cordery’s experience is complimented by a post-graduate degree from the University of Sydney in Conscious Sedation & Pain Control and is endorsed as a practitioner in this area by the Dental Board of Australia. Dr Cordery is a member of the Australian Society of Dental Anaesthesiology. Dr Cordery has spent time working in dental practices across Australia and the UK, where she developed an interest in family practice.

Dr Laura Barbagallo.  Dr Laura Barbagallo is our visiting specialist orthodontist.  Her main practice is located at Exact Orthodontics in Indooroopilly, and she consults at our practice usually on the last Tuesday of every month.

Our Support Staff

Tricia is our Senior Dental Assistant, and is often the first person you will meet on your arrival to our practice.  Nicky, Ruth, Shanice and Alisha are our other wonderful dental assistants and complete our team.  They are instrumental in the smooth operation of our clinic, keeping our dentists on time and making your dental experience a pleasant one.

In order to provide you with the highest standard of dental care, this practice is required to collect personal information from you. This information covers basic details such as your name, address and telephone number, but it is also necessary for us to obtain from you details regarding your general health and past medical, dental or surgical treatments and procedures. Without this general health profile, the treating practitioner is unable to plan your care properly. • You may seek access to the information held about you and we will provide this access without undue delay. This access might be by inspection of your dental records at the time of your appointment or by special access or copying of information at other times.

• There will be no charge made for requesting this information but there may be fees levied just to cover the costs associated with the processing of this request or the copying of information.

• We will take reasonable steps to ensure at all times that the details we keep about you are accurate, complete and up-to-date.

• We will take all reasonable steps to protect this information from misuse or loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

• We use your information to contact you about your appointments.
